I’ve been out in New York for vacation and sent my submission to Tribeca from The Bowery Hotel.

Director of Photography

Patrick LaValley was the Director of Photography on Lick. I approached Pat last year about working together and he was happy to oblige. Having only worked on a music video previous to the beginning processes of the short, it served as a buffer to out how we were going to work together on Lick. With the help of storyboards from Jerylyn Brei, we were able to collaborate at many levels. Pat’s ability to create stunning imagery and having a great reel is truly a talent. He is always on the grind and earlier this summer he shot his first feature called Forge, which is now in Post-Production.

Camera Package for Lick:

  • Panasonic HVX-200
  • Letus35 Extreme
  • Carl Zeiss 28mm, 50mm, 85mm
  • Nikon 200mm

Three More

I’ve been using Withoutabox for my latest submissions and it’s been making the process very smooth.

Altogether, the submission fees, burning of DVD’s, shipping and packaging came to be over $120. Spendy.

Slowly, but surely

I squeezed in some time last month to send Lick out to four festivals and one of them was so kind they discounted my entry fee to $20. Thank you!

I submitted the film before the early bird deadline, so I’m hoping the Programmers can take note of it before thousands of more entries come piling in! I probably won’t hear back from these festivals until the end of the year or early next year since they’re 2010 festivals.
